Dear Parents and Carers,

Attendance

Well done to the parents who have supported us by having their child/children in every day since the beginning of term. We are always working hard to improve attendance, and this week we are extremely pleased to announce that we have THREE classes who have achieved over 97% attendance:

  • Year 1 - 97%
  • Year 2 - 98%
  • Year 3 - 99%

Keep up the good work! We hope to see more classes on this list next week!

Parents’ Evening

A final reminder that we are running parents’ evening on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th October. If you have not yet booked an appointment to meet with your child’s teacher, please contact the school office to do so.

School Gateway - support during Parents' Evenings

If you are still having difficulty using the School Gateway App to book clubs or pay for trips, Miss Morse in the school office will be available during parent’s evening next week to offer support and help parents to iron out any issues. She will be in until 6pm on both Monday and Tuesday so if you are attending a meeting with your child’s teacher, please feel free to pop into the office.

Secondary school applications

The deadline to apply for year 7 places is fast approaching. If you have still not applied for your child’s secondary school place and  would like help applying online, staff will be available during the 2 nights of Parent’s evening next week to support parents with this.

Please follow the link for information on how to support your child’s application submission.

Health and Safety - A Big Thank You!

Earlier this week, we had a report from parents to say that some used drug equipment had been found outside the school grounds. The items were removed and safely disposed of and we would like to thank all of our parents for staying vigilant both in and around our school site, and helping us to keep our pupils safe.

Halloween Chill Time Klub

Next Friday (22nd October) we will be having a special Halloween Themed Chill Time Klub. We have planned Halloween activities, games and treats (or tricks!)

Spaces will be limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The session needs to be both booked and paid for through the School Gateway App.

Curriculum Information

In preparation for the upcoming parents’ evening, we are publishing overviews of each classes current curriculum on the school website -

https://sites.google.com/a/ctk.education/www/learning/our-curriculum

These overviews will show you what your child is learning each term.

Headteachers Awards

The following children will receive an award in next week’s Celebration Assembly. Videos of Celebration Assemblies are now shared on our Facebook page.

Year 1 -

  • Kaiden - For showing confidence during our computing lesson while working on his mouse skills, he even helped shut down all the chromebooks properly at the end of the lesson!
  • Zach - For doing so well in phonics and being able to recognise nearly all the sounds we have learnt! We are also very proud of Zachs other personal achievements this term - well done Zach!

Year 2 -

  • Lily-Rose and Manna - For their fantastic  innovations of our story ‘The North Wind and the Sun’.  They have worked independently to change the characters and use adjectives  as well as working hard  to improve their handwriting.

Year 3 -

  • Roxy- For demonstrating deep thinking by promoting equality during a class discussion.

Year 4 -

  • Ella- For reflecting carefully, using the Global Warming Advert during our RE work focussing on being a steward of God’s creation. Ella made thoughtful contributions to our discussions and showed empathy when considering the reasons for and against.

Year 5 -

  • Liliana - for making clear notes for herself to help with her future problem solving in maths.
  • Aaliyah- For writing a fantastic persuasive letter using lots of emotive language.
