Anyone can ring First Response if they are concerned about a child or young person or if they think they need support.
First Response can help in different ways including:
- Providing information, advice and guidance about services to help families
- Making a referral to the Early Help team who can provide support to children, young people and families
- Making a referral a social work team.
- Together we’ll make sure the help we provide is the right help.
Parking on the Pavement
Recently we had a child who was almost hit by a car as it drove up on the pavement. Can we ask everybody to park on the road, not the pavement, even if it means parking a bit further down the road. Together we can make sure our children are safe.

Crimestoppers
Do you have a concern about crime in your local community? If so you can contact Crimestoppers to share information anonymously
As an independent charity, we are not part of the police. When you contact us you won't be identified. The only person who knows you contacted us with information is you.
We know that it can be difficult to come forward with information. You might have seen or heard something about a crime but don't know what to do, or are scared to come forward. It's easy to think there is nothing you can do, but we offer you a safe way to do this.
Our statistics for 2014-15 show that around 14 people are arrested and charged every day thanks to the information we receive from the public - your information can make a difference.
Our service is unique and designed to protect your identity, whether you call us on 0800 555 111 or submit our Anonymous Online Form.
- We will listen to you about any crime that you have information about.
- We don’t record any personal details about you.
- We pass information to the relevant authority without revealing your identity.
- All of our call agents are trained to support you through the process.
- In the 26 years that we have been running, no one has ever been identified after giving information. It is vital that we guarantee your anonymity because if your identity became known, our reputation would be seriously damaged.
Crimestoppers is not an emergency service and if you see a crime taking place you should ring 999 to report it immediately.
Also, if you want to contact the police, but it is not an emergency, please phone 101.
Hope Bristol 2018
HOPE BRISTOL 2018 IS A FIVE-DAY MISSION PARTNERING LOCAL CHURCHES WITH YOUNG PEOPLE FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO SHOW GOD'S LOVE IN PRACTICAL WAYS ACROSS BRISTOL.
We love to encourage people of all ages to get involved in Hope Bristol 2018!
Volunteers can register as a Family Team (Primary School age and above) or as part of a Youth Group Team. You just need to make sure you meet the adult/child ratio, have parental consent (where applicable) and have read the specific volunteer declarations.
Individual volunteers under 18 must have parental consent and be supervised by a designated adult.
There is no upper age limit for individual volunteers!
100% attendance for last term
We will be celebrating 100% attendance for children on Wednesday 14 March. The children will get a certificate on Monday and will be able to wear non-uniform on Wednesday. We will also be awarding certain children who have significantly improved their attendance.
Nut Allergies
If your child has a nut alergy, please contact the school office so that we can take appropriate precautions.
School Uniform - Jewellery and Nail Varnish
Can we remind parents that children should not wear any jewellery into school except watches and small stud earrings. Also can we remind all children and parents that nail varnish should not be worn in school.
Lent Fundraising
As usual, this year during Lent we will be having weekly fundraising events to raise money for charity. Our charities this year are CAFOD and the Great Western Air Ambulance. The activities are as follows:-
- Friday 16th March - penny trail - start collecting those coins!
- Friday 23rd March - film afternoon £1 per family
We will also have a ‘guess the name’ competition at 50p a go and an Easter Egg raffle for 20p per ticket or £1 a strip.

Children Walking to and from School Safely
All children in the infants MUST be collected by an adult known to the school.
If your child is in the Juniors please inform the school office if they are allowed walk to or from school alone.
It is recommended by the government for the safeguarding of children that they do not walk home alone from school until they are 10 years old.
Following this guidance the school strongly recommends only children in Year 5 & 6 walk to or from school alone. Younger children are at risk even if they are walking short distances alone.
A list will be given to school staff indicating if your child can walk alone, should you decide to change these arrangements it is your responsibility to inform the school office.

Family Support Drop-ins
Mrs Selway is now hosting informal drop-in sessions each Friday morning. This time will enable parents/carers to seek support and advice. Mrs Selway will help in any way she can and also provide links to other organisations who offer support. If you have a worry of any kind - pop in!
