Dear Parents/Carers,

Next Term’s Curriculum

Here are the key topics children will be learning about next term. Please encourage your child to learn about these at home:

New ‘Tech Team’ Club for Year 6

Ever think a mousetrap could power a car? Well, that’s exactly what our new ‘Tech Team’ will be building here in school.  The team will start by building the base, then add the mousetraps power and then see it race off into the distance!

The team will experiment with the gears and other unique build components to allow the best build racer to go farther, faster or pull heavy weights.   They will be applying the science of kinetic and potential energy, simple machines and friction as they design, construct and even reengineer the ultimate mousetrap vehicle!

This club will be for Year 6 and will start on Thursday 9th January from 3.15pm - 4.00pm.  If you child would like to join this club please let the school office know.

Christmas Events

The children's christmas plays will be on the following dates:-

  • Juniors Christmas Service - Monday 16th December @ 2.00pm
  • Infants Christmas Play - Tuesday 17th December @ 2.00pm

Head Lice

Please check your child’s hair for head lice over the weekend. Everyone must check and treat if we are to be free of head lice. Even if your child shows no signs of head lice ie scratching their hair, please still check. Thank you.

Attendance

Well done to the following classes who had attendance at over 97% this week:

  • Year 3 - 99%
  • Year 5 - 97%

This means that Year 3  will have a non uniform day on the 20th December.
