Dear Parents/Carers,

School Reports

Reports will be sent out to parents today. I have read all of the reports and each one  celebrates the achievement of each child. The teachers have done a tremendous job of describing each child’s success.

If you would like to discuss your child’s progress with their class teacher please telephone the school office to make an appointment after school on Wednesday 17th July.

Reading during the summer

Research shows that children who read for 10 minutes a day during the summer holidays make better progress in school than those who don't read. Here are some websites to give ideas and free resources to keep your children reading through the summer, and make a start back in September easier for them:

INSET (Staff Training Day) in September

The first day of the new academic year (Monday 2nd September 2019) will be an INSET (school closed). This means that Tuesday 3rd September will be the start of the academic year for children.
Christ the King’s production of ‘ Captain Hook’s Revenge’

You are welcome to attend a choice of two performances - Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th July at 3:30pm.

Tickets are available from the office from Monday at a price of £1 per ticket, this money will be spent on new books for each class

School Sun Hats

Children can wear their own sun hats for the last week of term.  From September all children will be given a new red hat.  These hats will be individually named.

School Uniform
School uniform is already being sold in the shops.  We continue to use S & H Workwear, 98 St Johns Lane, Bedminster.

All children should be wearing the following school uniform:

  • PLAIN BLACK SHOES
  • grey / black trousers or skirts – no tracksuit bottoms, or leggings
  • red sweatshirt or cardigan or fleece
  • white / red polo shirts
  • PE Kit (which is plain white t-shirt / plain black shorts and PE daps or trainers)

We all look forward to seeing the children looking their best when they return in September.

Attendance

Great attendance this week. Well done to the following classes who had attendance at over 97%:

  • Year 1 - 99%
  • Year 4 - 100%

This means that Year 1 and Year 4 will have a non uniform day on Friday 19th July.
