Dear Parents/Carers,

Children with 100% attendance so far this year!

As we have just said well done to children with 100% attendance in Term 4, can I take this opportunity to say a fantastic well done to the following children who have had 100% attendance in Terms 1-5:

  • Reception - Tallulah
  • Year 2 - Taylor, Justin and Chloe
  • Year 3 - Isobel, Moshi, Stephanie and Layla
  • Year 4 - Gabby, Hannah, Oscar and Chiebuka
  • Year 5 - Christiana, Chloe and Bradley
  • Year 6 - Chloe, Kenzie, Dylan and Matty

We will have a special celebration for children with ‘all year’ 100% attendance, in Term 6.

Crimestoppers

Crimestoppers operates the 0800 555 111 telephone number, allowing people to call anonymously to pass on information about crime.

Parents of Reception Children

We would like to invite you to attend weekly drop in sessions. These sessions will take place between 8.40 and 9am on Tuesday mornings each week. During this time you are welcome to come into your child’s class, read with your child and spend time sharing their learning diaries with them. Your children are proud of their achievements in class and would love to share their experiences with you. Miss Letherby and Miss Harvey will also be available to liaise with you and to support you with accessing Tapestry if needed.

Leave of absence during term time

We must remind all parents that the Headteacher CANNOT authorise any leave of absence during term time unless for exceptional circumstances.  Any requests must be made in writing on a form available from the school office and must be made at least ten days before leave is due to commence.  Any leave taken that has not been considered exceptional will be recorded as unauthorised.  There will be two unauthorised absences recorded for each day - morning and afternoon.  If there are eight or more unauthorised absences recorded within a ten week period, the school can issue a penalty notice.  This will be £60 per child for each parent, meaning a possible penalty charge of £120 per child.

We appreciate that holidays taken during term time can be much cheaper than those taken during the school holidays but we have a legal responsibility to ensure that every child is attending school and receiving their education.

Summer  Holiday Chill Time 'Klub'!

We are looking to run a summer club for 2 weeks from 6th August - 10am-3pm. Cost and further details to be confirmed. If you think you may be interested in sending your child to this summer holiday club, please contact the school office. Places are filling up fast. Many thanks.

Friday Morning Coffee Time

Mrs Selway is now hosting informal drop-in sessions each Friday morning. This time will enable parents/carers to meet up and perhaps seek support and advice. Mrs Selway can offer advice and also provide links to other organisations who offer support. If you have a worry of any kind, or just would like to have a chat with other parents and carers  - pop in!
