Welcome back and a belated happy new year!
Christmas Disco
Many thanks to Kim Porter for arranging the very successful school disco. The children had an amazing time and an amazing £85 was raised for our school.
Funeral for Emma Foyle
As you all know, Emma, mum of Harvey and Cody, passed away before Christmas. The support for the family from this community has been wonderful and very much appreciated by Mike and the family. Emma’s funeral is on Monday at 11am at South Bristol Cremotorium. You are all very welcome to attend.
Our prayers continue to be with the boys, their dad Mike and all the family at this difficult time.
Attendance
Well done to the following classes for achieving 97% or more attendance:

100% Attendance assembly
On Monday 16th January we will be celebrating 100% attendance for last term. If your child had 100% attendance, they will received a certificate which allows them to wear non-uniform on Monday and will be entered into a draw to win a new storybook.
School Uniform
Please can we remind you that children should be wearing the following school uniform:-
- grey / black trousers or skirts – no tracksuit bottoms
- red sweatshirt or cardigan or fleece
- white / red polo shirts
- PLAIN BLACK SHOES
- PE Kit (which is plain white t-shirt / plain black shorts and PE daps or trainers)
We all look forward to seeing all the children looking their best in January.
CTK Reading Volunteer Team
To give children even more opportunities to read regularly, we are planning to create a Christ the King Team of Reading Volunteers. We are planning to offer volunteers training and support so that they can help children’s reading improve. If you are interested, and are able to offer some time on a regular basis, please contact the school office and Mrs Higgins will make contact to give you more information.
Parent Helpers for School Trips
We would like to create a small team of parents who are available to help out with school trips. We would offer some simple training and a full DBS clearance to ensure safety. Parent volunteers would not necessarily be on trips with their own child’s class but would have a great opportunity to support the school and our children. Please contact the school office if you are interested.
Primary School Admissions
Reception admissions for September 2017 are now open on www.bristol.gov.uk/schooladmissions. Children born between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2013 must apply for a school by midnight on 15th January 2017
Headteacher Awards
The Headteacher assembly will be at 9am on Monday 9th January and the following will be receiving the Headteacher’s certificate for a brilliant start to the new year:- Ayla (YR), Ashton S (Y1), Dylan (Y2), Gracie-Mae (Y3), Dupree (Y4), Darrius (Y5), Darrius (Y6) and Ester K (Y6).
Isabel (Y2), Roxanne (Y2), Gracie-Mae (Y3) and Terry (Y3) will also receive an award for excellent reading.
Minor Ailment Service available at Badham Pharmacy for up to 16 year olds
