Dear Parents/Carers,
Advice When You Have a Problem - By Our School Council
These posters were recently created by Created by Christiana and Abigail from our School Council, to remind everybody what to do if there is a problem in school:

Lent Collection
Thank you for the great generosity in regards to the Lent collection.
We have raised £1,449.  £1,000 will be given to CAFOD and £449 will be given the Great Western Air Ambulance. This donation was presented to Ian from Great Western Air Ambulance in assembly this week:

Summer  Holiday Chill Time 'Klub'!
We are looking to run a summer club for 2 weeks from 13th August - 10am-3pm. Cost and further details to be confirmed. If you think you maybe interested in sending your child to this summer holiday club, please contact the school office. Many thanks ☀️
Feedback from Parent Questionnaire
A big thank you to all of you who completed questionnaires during our last parents’ evening and apologies in taking so long to share the feedback. 110 parents families responded. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and the full results are available on the website, just below the newsletter link. Some highlights of the feedback was no parents disagreeing in any way with the following statements:
  • My child is happy at school
  • My child feels safe at school
  • My child makes good progress at this school (2 persons didn’t know)
  • My child is well looked after at this school
  • My child is taught well at this school (1 person didn’t know)
  • This school makes sure its pupils are well behaved (2 persons didn’t know)
  • This school is well led and managed
  • This school responds well to any concerns I raise
  • Would you recommend this school to another parent?

The most common area identified for improvement was homework, which was identified as an issue by 5 parents. This was raised in a previous questionnaire and as a result we introduced a new homework policy during this parents’ evening. If you have any concerns about homework please speak to your child’s class teacher.
3 parents stated that they disagree with ‘This school deals effectively with bullying’. Our policy is ‘ to prevent all forms of bullying amongst pupils.  To declare that bullying will not be tolerated and that all incidents will be taken seriously’. If you ever have any concerns that your child may be a victim of bullying, please come in and see up immediately, so we can address the problem. A copy of our full policy in on our website - www.ctk.education
1 parent disagreed with the statements ‘My child learns how to be healthy’, ‘This school is well led and managed’, This school responds well to any concerns I raise’ and ‘I receive valuable information from the school about my child’s progress’,
1 parent strongly disagreed with,’ I am happy to approach the school if I have a concern or suggestion’. Again, any problems please come in and see us so we can address your concerns.
107 out od 110 recommended our school with 3 saying ‘I don't know’
  • Some other comments:
  • Challenging higher ability children needs to improve . .  At times we don’t feel the mastery side of things especially in maths is pushed.
  • Keep doing what you are doing. Well done.
  • Need more homework.
  • This school makes sure its pupils are well behaved - 100%.
  • I am impressed with the provision of breakfast/chill/games club.
  • Very good school. Thank you.
  • Recommend to any.  Always supportive of my family.
  • All staff are friendly and helpful.
  • Brilliant teachers.
  • My concern in the past was to support working parents which has very much improved with the breakfast and chill club and many more clubs opening.
  • Jo is lush breakfast club and chill time club AMAZING The whole school and staff are brilliant!!!
  • I always say well done and thanks to the teachers and staff of the school.
  • This school is really good in every way.
  • Very pleased with my child’s progress.
  • Introducing a foreign language could be beneficial for children. Perhaps in the form of an after school club. Great work of teachers in this school results in my child feeling very safe and happy.  Well done.

Can I thank you all for your guidance and support. We are always looking for ways to improve and you are welcome to talk to myself or any member of staff if you have a suggestion or idea for improvement.
