Dear
Parents and Carers,
A reminder that the school will be closed next
Friday due to our last staff training day.
Sports Day
Sports day on Monday was a great success and all
the children thoroughly enjoyed the event.
It was a shame that parents and carers could not come and watch. The
Park had to cancel the event from being held outside because the fields were
very waterlogged following the heavy rain we had over the weekend.
Industrial
Action – not affecting Christ the King
You
may have heard that some schools will be close next week, due to industrial
action. WE WILL BE OPEN AS USIUAL.
Headteacher’s
Awards
It
has been great to have such a positive feedback about the Headteacher’s Awards
that we introduced in January. It would always be the expectation that each
children receives at least one award per year, however because we started
several months into this school year, it is unlikely that every child will
receive an award by July. Any child that does not will receive an award by the
October holiday in their new class.
Celebration Assembly
The next Celebration Assembly will
be on Monday 4th July at 9am, where the following
children will receive their Headteacher's Award: Destiny (YR), Archie (YR), Channelle (Yr1), Kash (Yr2),
Noella (Yr2), Christiana Yr3), Chad (Yr4), Anastasia (Yr 5), Archie G (Yr 6)
Clubs
Week beginning Monday 4th
July will be the last week for school clubs.
Hot
School Meals
Eden has confirmed that the school price will not be
increased from this September, therefore it remains at £2.25.
All children going into Year 3 from September (our
current Year 2) will have to pay for their hot meals. If you think you are eligible for Free School
Meals please see the school office who can help you apply.
Final
Staff Training Day
The last training day,
when the school is closed, will be on Friday
8th July.
Old
Phones and Tablets
We are looking into interesting ways in which we can
use old technology to support learning in school. If you have an old tablet or
mobile phone please pass them onto us so that we can use them in class.
Christ the King Culture Day – organised by children in Year 6
Culture Day will be on Wednesday 6th
July – the day when we all learn about different countries, cultures and
traditions. The children will be
learning about different cultures in their lessons during the day. Children can come into school dressed in the
traditional clothes for any country or culture that they wish to celebrate. Children can interpret ‘traditional clothes’
in any way they like (e.g. it might be day-to-day clothes that people wear in
the UK. But can we ask for no football kits to be worn. Year 6 children will be
explaining this to the children during assembly.
Lost
property
There is a lot of lost property in the school. It will be placed outside today and Monday,
please come and look for any items that might belong to your child.
Attendance! Attendance! Attendance!
This
term, as well as rewarding 99% and 100% attendance, we will also be rewarding
classes that demonstrate a big improvement in attendance.
Unfortunately,
no classes have achieved above 97% attendance this week.
