Cooking Course for Parents
At the end of June we have someone coming in to cook with parents.  There are 3 sessions and it will cover the ‘Eatwell Plate’, portion size and healthy eating / healthy options.  There is a limited number of places and if you would be interested please let Joanne Selway know.  These sessions will run for 3 weeks on a Friday morning from 30th June from 9am - 11am.
Holidays and Long Weekends - a reminder!
It is highly unlikely that the school is able to authorise an absence due to holiday. Absences can only be authorised in  exceptional circumstances.
Due to government guidance, the school is expected to take action when children have 8 or more unauthorised sessions (4 days). This would normally be in the form of a fine of £60 per child per adult.
So where children have been on holiday in the current year or the previous year, or their attendance is low, it is likely that we will issue a fine if there are more than 8 unauthorised sessions.
Can I remind you that children should not be taken out of school on Mondays or Fridays for long weekends (unless there are exceptional circumstances and it has been agreed in advance).
I promise that we do not want to issue fines, but will have no choice where unauthorised absence is high.
Internet and Mobile Safety

As you will know many children are accessing social media (i.e. Facebook, Oovoo, etc) and sometimes using it inappropriately in ways that are causing distress to themselves and among their peers. May we remind you that these sites are aimed at people of at least 13 years or over and we have been advised by the police that you, as responsible parents, should be monitoring what sites/APPs your children access.  Similar upsetting incidents have been seen recently through inappropriate texting between children. We take these incidents very seriously as they are a form of bullying.  If your child uses a mobile phone to text, please ensure that they know how to use it responsibly and are doing so.

There will be a free Fun Day at Brislingtion Cricket Club on Sunday 21st May, 10.30am – 3pm.

Lent Collection

A big thank you to everyone who supported our Lent Fundraising this year. We raised an amazing £1688.50! The money will go to Comic Relief, The Little Princess Trust and CAFOD's Big Fish campaign. The children had fun and also learned about living out our Christian values, supporting those in need at home and abroad.
