Dear Parents and Carers,
Parent Helpers for School Trips
We would like to create a small team of parents who are available to help out with school trips. We would offer some simple training and a full DBS check would be required to ensure safety. . Parent volunteers would not necessarily be on trips with their own child’s class but would have a great opportunity to support the school and our children. Please contact the school office if you are interested.
After School Clubs
Ukulele Club will be starting on Monday for Years 5 & 6. As with our other after school clubs, we ask that children commit to the term. The club will run from 3.15-4.00pm and will be free of charge.
Archery Club will now be open to Years 4-6 and will run every Friday from 3.15-4.00pm
If you would like to book your child into either of these clubs, please do so using the School Gateway App.
Holidays during Term Time
Please be reminded that children should not be taking holidays during term time.
If you need to take your child out of school during the term, it is essential that you complete a leave of absence request form to inform us of this. Holidays will not be authorised and will result in a penalty notice - this is a fine of £60 per child/per parent.
Absences for other reasons will be looked at on a case by case basis and authorisation will be dependent on your child's current attendance. Unless absences are for an exceptional circumstance, it is likely that they will also be unauthorised which means you may also be at risk for a penalty notice. Please be aware that we may ask for evidence of exceptional circumstances.
Nasal Flu Vaccinations
The School Nurse Team will be visiting school on Thursday 8th December to administer flu vaccinations to pupils in Reception-Year 6.
If you would like your child to have the flu vaccine (which is given in the form of a nasal spray) please visit https://imms.sirona-cic.org.uk/flu/2022/consent to give consent.
Vacancy for School Cleaner
We have a vacancy for a school cleaner starting ASAP. If you would be interested in the position please contact the school office for an application form. Hours for the vacancy are Monday to Friday 3.30pm to 5.30pm with some work required during the school holidays.
Wet Weather - Collecting children from school
With the weather getting colder and much wetter, we have been making plans to help people to stay as dry as possible!
On days where there is torrential rain, we will open up the school hall towards the end of the school day to allow parents to stay dry whilst waiting for their children. Parents are welcome to access the school through the Breakfast Club doors and wait inside until their parents are released.
